Dear Potential Personal Partner,

Throughout this life you will have numerous chances to make a difference in the lives of others: your family, friends, and total strangers. Right now, Men Standing Positive is offering you the opportunity to reach entire low-income communities in a powerful way using our unique system. Founded in Saint Louis, Missouri, our mission is to empower and inspire people by bringing wholeness, change, and a peace of mind through various community outreaches, events, and programs.

Men Standing Positive strategically acts as a third party filter to screen and connect the individual/family to the resources and help they need. We partner with those who provide homeless shelters, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, temporary housing, counseling, job training, utility assistance, domestic violence programs, spiritual development and more. The goal is to successfully unite the individual with the appropriate available resource(s); therefore strengthening and building the community as a whole.
In addition, Men Standing Positive also reaches out and connects with neighborhood churches in the local community before we do our outreach and events. Our policy requires that we cannot connect an individual/family with job training and assistance programs until we first place them in a church home. A dedicated church family is absolutely vital for support, love, and encouragement as the member seeks to follow God, resolve major life issues, and also obtain other necessary help and training. Our unique system works to help people in every area possible: spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Men Standing Positive believes that impact starts one individual at a time. We want to connect with people, such as yourself, who desire to make a difference in lives across the city. We are currently active in low-income communities throughout North St. Louis City, South St. Louis City, East St. Louis Illinois and Washington Park Illinois reaching men, women, and children of all ages. Men Standing Positive regularly sends updates by way of email, mail, website, blog, and social media so you can see where your money is going. We are a fully certified 501(c)3 organization so any donation amount is fully tax-deductible, appreciated and valuable.

We are currently preparing for 2017; gathering startup funding as we build our staff and prepare for this year’s outreach and events.  If you would like more information please email- partner@menstandingpositive.org or call 314-690-3077.  To make a donation online via PayPal- Click Here. Or write a check out to ‘Men Standing Positive’ and mail to P.O. Box 39459 St. Louis, MO 63139-8459. We cannot make this year happen without our dedicated personal partners like you! Join us in changing one person, one city, one nation at a time. Thank you for your consideration!

Merry Christmas & Happy 2016!!!

merry-christmas-moving-background-red

The closing of one year and the beginning of the next marks a period of significant transition. For Men Standing Positive, 2015 brought about many difficulties, shifts, and also victories. God has a plan and He is always good. This year the team spent their time in Ferguson, South City, Soulard, and in East St. Louis, IL. Over 22 people accepted Christ this year and we were able to place several others in church homes and programs for additional assistance. Below are a few highlights of 2015 we wanted to share with you-

  • In the spring, we created and released our very first video testimonial, called the ‘MSP Transformation Report’. Sean’s life was radically changed over a couple months as he attended Mission St. Louis’ Job and Leadership Training Program; graduating at the top of his class in the fall of 2014. Mission St. Louis is just one of the many programs we partner with to help reach people and transform lives. Be on the lookout next year for the testimony of a woman instantly set-free from depression, self-harm, and a suicide attempt. In a few short minutes, the truth of Jesus changed her life forever. We can’t wait to share her story with you.
  • After many years and piles of paperwork, Men Standing Positive receiving their 501(c)3 certification in July 2015. This will open a variety of opportunities in the near future with corporations, small businesses, and other organizations.
  • Last but not least, MSP gained two new sponsors- Concept Remodels and Saint Louis Christian College. Both have already assisted us in many ways- from monetary contributions for advertising, meeting facilities, event support, and more. For additional information on each please visit the Sponsor page on our website or blog.

We cannot thank our partners, sponsors, and volunteers enough for all they do to help make the mission and vision come to life. Without your support and involvement, none of this would be possible. So thank you! The Men Standing Positive team is extremely thankful, blessed, and eager to see what awaits in 2016. But until then, we hope you have very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with your families and friends! May God bless you this new year and always.

Love, The MSP Team

Thanksgiving Comes to an East St. Louis Elementary School

Amidst the chaos going on in East St. Louis, the murders, and recent teacher strike- an underground awakening is happening. Now that the smoke from the strike has cleared and students have returned to the classroom, many are calling for change. Local leaders, parents, and students are beginning to take a stand for their community- recognizing the impact they have in their own neighborhoods to make a difference. Last year Men Standing Positive spent fall 2014 on the streets of East St. Louis and in the Washington Park community doing outreach, a block party, and a conference- the movement was titled Impact East Side. This year they were invited to return to Dunbar Elementary School and host MSP Fun Fest for the students, parents, and all staff. East St. Louis Senior High School and Mason Clark Middle School have also been invited to join. The free event Saturday November 21st, 2015 from 1 pm – 4 pm includes live music by local St. Louis rap/hip-hop artists: St.Lien, Saved, and MiNiMe, DJ G on the 1’s and 2’s, a bounce house, as well as a Thanksgiving dinner, and clothing giveaway provided by the Rock Church- Soulard campus. In addition, program information will be available for those interested in job training, counseling, rehabilitation, career coaching, and more. Men Standing Positive partners with a variety of programs in St. Louis to offer extra assistance for those in need; some primary examples are Crisis Nursery, Mission St. Louis, Connections to Success, and Slate. In Loving Memory of Diane Marie Carter

Dee, what a woman!!  Loving, compassionate, kind, patient, caring, and so much more.  Loyal to God, her husband Josh, children, family, friends, her church The Rock in Soulard, and also Men Standing Positive.  Dee left an impact wherever she went and made everyone feel like family.  Her hugs were something special and her smile would brighten your whole day.  Always joyful and laughing, Dee will never be forgotten.  Dee and her husband Josh were faithful MSP volunteers, regularly joining us for street outreach and main events.  If you have ever been fed a meal while working with MSP, it was because of her.  Late Tuesday night August 4th, Dee went home to be with Jesus after battling many long months in the hospital.  She is no longer with us on earth, but forever in our hearts.  We will one day see her soon in heaven.  The entire team at Men Standing Positive extends all our prayers, love, and deepest sympathy to Josh and the entire family.  Diane Marie Carter- Thank you for everything- who you are and all you’ve done.  We will see you again very soon!

Until next time… When we see you on the streets of heaven.
                               Love Always,
Mike “MiNiMe”, Pastor Frank, Anna, Candice, Adrienne, Sheronda, Lisa, Michelle, & Suzette

Sean’s Story // MSP Transformation Report

In East St. Louis, IL at the July 2014 MSP Block Party, Sean came out, signed up for assistance on a Hot Sheet, and has never looked back since. Both homeless and jobless at the time of the block party, Men Standing Positive was able to connect Sean with two of our program partners. First, we sent Sean to the New Life Evangelistic Center where they met his housing needs for a short time. Next, he entered the Job Leadership Training program at Mission St. Louis and successfully graduated with honors. Today, Sean has a whole new outlook on life and continues to make progress every day. Watch below to see Sean’s complete life transformation.
