On Saturday afternoon, February 7th, 2015, MSP Ministries and a group of student volunteers from St. Louis Christian College met at the Michael Brown Memorial Site in Ferguson for Carry the Cross with MSP. Everyone split up into groups- some stayed with the cross, and others went door to door, or simply stopped to talk with those out on the sidewalks and streets. At one point- traffic got backed up at a stop sign as several people in cars wanted prayer. One of the volunteers said it best and labeled it as the “drive-thru” prayer line. Once we walked out onto the main road W. Florissant, cars honked and people waved non-stop. After we got back to the vans, MSP was able to pass out food to some people who were in immediate need. In summary, the afternoon was a great success with beautiful weather; 2 people received Jesus and 14 people signed up for Hot Sheet assistance. Of the those who signed up- 2 have already been placed in suitable church homes and programs. MSP Ministries would like to thank all the volunteers who helped make this outreach possible. We look forward to seeing more and more support from the students at St. Louis Christian College. Sean’s Story // MSP Transformation Report

In East St. Louis, IL at the July 2014 MSP Block Party, Sean came out, signed up for assistance on a Hot Sheet, and has never looked back since. Both homeless and jobless at the time of the block party, Men Standing Positive was able to connect Sean with two of our program partners. First, we sent Sean to the New Life Evangelistic Center where they met his housing needs for a short time. Next, he entered the Job Leadership Training program at Mission St. Louis and successfully graduated with honors. Today, Sean has a whole new outlook on life and continues to make progress every day. Here we are, a little over 5 months later, all the protester noise, media attention, and political hype has cleared. All that remains of the Michael Brown incident are the memorial site, burned down businesses, and a wounded community. The nation and world may have forgotten, but Ferguson and its people will never forget August 9^th, 2014.

On Sat Jan 24^th, 2015, MSP Ministries made our first move into the community with a Carry the Cross with MSP. Beginning at Ground Zero (aka. Michael Brown Memorial), a group of over 25 people walked around the neighborhoods and main street of W. Florissant sharing hope and the real love of Jesus.

MSP fully acknowledges that they do not have the answers to all that occurred that day nor do we intend to pick a side on the issue. However, we do plan to stand in the gap with the community and tear down the wall of racial division with the love of Christ. This is not an overnight process or quick fix, and MSP has no intent to leave in a hurry. We will stay until the job is done, media attention or not. People are what matter to God and that’s what matters to MSP.

On Saturday, 6 people gave their lives to Christ and 14 people signed up for Hot Sheet community assistance. Numerous were prayed for- in their cars and on the sidewalks, driveways, and streets. The guys even stopped to help a man rake and clean up brush in his front yard. As the cross was carried down W. Florissant, cars honked and many waved, showing sincere signs of gratitude and appreciation that their community was not being ignored or forgotten.

On August 9^th, 2014- the entire country and people around the world fixed their eyes on the Midwest- America’s Heartland. The shooting and death of Michael Brown left many hearts filled with hurt, anger, confusion, depression, rage, and uncertainty. Following the incident, the Grand Jury’s decision only succeeded in making the wound worse. It left the city of St. Louis even more divided than before with fear running rampant. From day one, many people contacted MSP wanting to know where we were at, why were we not out on the streets standing for justice and peace, and helping to rebuild the community. Our response is simple- God never gave us clearance to take action during those first tumultuous months except to pray. And pray we did, asking God for direction and guidance on when to make a move, a move at the right place and at the right time. Last month, MSP finally received our answer.

Saturday January 24^th, 2015 come join MSP as we take a stand for the community of Ferguson and our entire beloved city, St. Louis. Beginning at Ground Zero, the place where Michael Brown breathed his last, we will be carrying the cross. This day is not a time to take sides on issues, though we do not ignore or lightly dismiss the seriousness of what occurred. Instead, Carry the Cross with MSP represents a time to take a stand, a stand for the only solution that will provide answers and a legitimate healing for all those who were, are, and will be affected in the future. This solution is the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. Turning to Him is the only way that the Ferguson community, city of St. Louis, and the entire country will ever fully recover to rebuild and prosper in the coming days, weeks, months, and years. It all starts with individual lives hearing about the grace, power, and saving love of Jesus.

So we challenge you- to join us on the 24^th– as we go out on the streets of Ferguson. Become a part of sharing the truth of Jesus’s love, praying for those interested, and signing people up who need assistance to change their lives for the better. The feedback I received from the Washington Park/Trinity Outreach Kids was that the MSP Fun Fest gave them the feeling that they were like leaders, and they had the power to make a difference and possibly fix the community. They said they felt like they were doing something important. They also said they wished that the program would have lasted a little longer than it did, so that they could continue to come up with ideas to make the world a better place too. I believe that all of the greater east side metro areas should have much more production models such as the MSP group. I was honored to be involved with MSP’s Fun Fest at Dunbar Elementary. MSP gave me an opportunity to minister to students through music, and it was great seeing how God used us to minister to the students and the parents. Overall, the Fun Fest was a great experience for me, and I’m excited to see how God will use them to take over East St. Louis with the Gospel. – T-Jones

MSP’s Fun Fest @ Dunbar Elementary School was one of the most peaceful and beautiful God glorifying events I have ever attended. Everywhere I looked were smiling faces. God’s presence was everywhere. In the messages brought by the ministers through their music and all the volunteers that worked diligently throughout the event to give the children a safe fun atmosphere to pray, play, dance, eat, and hear about Jesus’s plan for them! There were prizes, clothes, shoes, coats and hope- beautiful hope! … the Holy Spirit permeated the air as everyone worked in harmony to bring honor and glory to our majestic and all mighty God. So many servants and prayer warriors from all around the world, all with one mind and heart came together to share of their gifts and talents to increase the Kingdom and sow seeds that will carry on for eternity! As I was setting up my DJ equipment for the MSP Fun Fest, I didn’t know what to expect. Would the kids come to the school on a Saturday, especially with it being rainy? They came and they had a great time! I believe the impact helped build a closer relationship with Jesus. The kids rejoiced and had fun in the Lord. MSP Effective Evangelism Conference- Sunday October 26^th, 2014

Christians should never be intimidated by evangelism and shy away from sharing their faith. In fact, your daily lifestyle and attitude toward others speaks more of your beliefs than any words you will ever say. At the MSP Effective Evangelism Conference on October 26^th, Mike ‘MiNiMe’ Wuebbles delivered a practical message about sharing the Gospel with those around you. Every believer is fully able to tell others about Christ if they would realize it is not about winning a theological argument. The world needs to know how Jesus changed your life and helps you on a daily basis. Christianity is about a personal relationship with God, not a list of religious doctrines. You may be the only example of Jesus someone ever sees in their life. Do not be intimidated to talk about your faith. MiNiMe said it best, “You have what it takes to take over the enemy’s territory; you just have to believe it.”

Directly following the message, Adrienne Ransom struck up a conversation with a lady from the community. The day before she had come home from work, heard the music from DJ G’s jeep and saw the cross coming down her street. Her neighbor was outside and told her about the MSP Effective Evangelism Conference the following day at Harvest Church Illinois. She decided to come out to see what it was all about after one of the MSP team members handed her a flyer with more information. The lady was in awe of the practical message, the free food, and the programs that were available. She felt extremely blessed and decided to make Harvest her church home. Adrienne also signed her up on the hot sheets to receive some assistance with food and clothing. In all, the 2014 MSP Effective Evangelism Conference was a great success. We would especially like to thank the Harvest Church Illinois for hosting this event, and also coming out on the streets with us all month, as we spread the Word around the local area. Carry the Cross with MSP- Saturday October 25, 2014

“Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, others make it happen.” Such a powerful and honest statement from the famous Michael Jordan. During Carry the Cross Outreach this past Saturday, the team walked down a street where a group of boys were playing basketball. They asked Mike ‘MiNiMe’ Wuebbles if he wanted to play, so he threw a couple shots at the basket. He began talking to them about their role in the community and the impact of their choices and lifestyle. As MiNiMe continued to speak, he brought up Jesus and explained the truth of the Gospel. The boys decided that afternoon to accept Christ into their hearts and lives. After prayer, one kid asked MiNiMe if he was a rapper. He replied yes. DJ G backed up his jeep and played Change the World as MiNiMe gave a performance out on the street. The boys loved it. I can guarantee you those kids will never forget the afternoon a jeep, a cross, and a rapper came down their street and introduced them to Jesus. This experience helped give them all the power and ability needed to change their own lives and leave a legitimate impact in their neighborhood. Change starts- one choice- one life at a time.

MSP Block Party // Summer 2014

This past summer Men Standing Positive hosted one block party in East St. Louis, Illinois. Despite the heat, everyone had a great time- especially the kids as they chased each other around the parking lot with water guns. DJ G kept the party going while T-Jones, StLien, and MiNiMe brought awesome music and a dynamic Word. Our partner for this event- the Rock Church in Soulard came out and provided free food, drink, and clothing to anyone in need. Three people signed up for a local church home, two registered to vote, and many came forward at the end to re-dedicate their lives to Christ. A big thank you to all who came out, our volunteers, and our partners. We are already excited for the block parties to come in 2015! We hope to see you there! Carry the Cross with MSP // Looking Back at Summer 2014

Imagine, walking out of a local store late on a Saturday afternoon- depressed and seriously contemplating suicide. You have traveled the world and seen it all, but somewhere deep down there is a missing piece. You cannot seem to figure it out and have lost all hope. When suddenly, you look up ahead and see a cross, carried by a man who is followed by a group of people. Instantly, you know that your answer is there, standing right in front of you. An overwhelming sense of peace, joy, and restoration surrounds your heart; all the thoughts and feelings of suicide are gone. You are free!!

The scenario just described above is exactly what happened to a man as he saw the group carrying the cross across a parking lot. He was extremely depressed and ready to end his life. But, when he laid eyes on the cross, everything changed. He was instantly touched and discovered the reason to keep on living. The cross carries the solution to any problem or issue you may be facing. Jesus is the answer.

This is just one example of the many lives that were touched this past summer as Men Standing Positive carried the cross down the streets of St. Louis. On the corners, we stopped to pray and minister to multiple people at a time. Many received Christ, others received a Word of knowledge, and also signed up for hot sheets, in need of a church home and further assistance. Carry the Cross with MSP is a unique form of outreach as we have discovered the cross speaks for itself. Simply dragging the cross down the road, passersby usually stop directly and stare with a look of deep thought. Some cars honk as they go by and some people roll down their windows and spit at the cross. Regardless, seeing a group of people dragging a cross down the street is going to make you pause for a moment and think. This Fall and in 2015 we are very excited to take the cross into even more communities across the area. MSP Outreach // Summer 2014 In Review

Walking through the streets, you see and meet people- experiencing their daily reality on an authentic and intimate level. As you stand on their doorstep, porch, or the sidewalk in front of their home, they invite you into their life for a few short minutes, revealing a small portion of who they are and where they have come from. You begin to re-evaluate your own life and realize there is a whole separate world outside your own neighborhood and social circle. People are people, we come from different backgrounds, but we all encounter similar hardships and challenges; they just have a unique face. When you recognize this reality, your entire worldview shifts. You become sensitive and eager to reach the people around you.

All throughout summer 2014, Men Standing Positive spent Saturday afternoons out on the streets of different communities; speaking with residents and spreading the word about upcoming events. We meet them right where they are at- taking the time to see what they need, pray for, and encourage them. Men Standing Positive uses a Hot Sheet system to follow up with and keep track of those who requested help with finding a church home and assistance programs. Before an outreach, we always partner with the local churches in that area, so we have somewhere nearby to send the residents. Men Standing Positive has also been focusing on getting in contact with programs that provide training and assistance to those who need it. Some examples are Mission St. Louis, Crisis Nursery, Job Core, Forgiven and Free, New Life Evangelistic Center, and Trinity Outreach Center. Look for upcoming blog posts regarding the specific organizations and their direct partnership with Men Standing Positive. This summer’s MSP Outreaches definitely left an impact with over 17 salvations, 14 people placed in church homes, and 9 seeking a connection with assistance programs. The team here is very excited for the upcoming outreaches this Fall and going into 2015. Below are some photos from this past summer and our main outreach informational video.
