Success Story// Meet Walter

Walter

Back in the Summer of 2015 during an MSP Street Outreach in South City, Walter accepted Christ and was invited to an upcoming MSP conference.  Later that month he came to the conference, one of the speakers prayed over and prophesied to him that his home church was where he was standing and his pastor was at the back of the room. Ever since that time, Walter has faithfully attended and grown in his relationship with God. At the end of 2017, an MSP case manager began to counsel and assist him with resources as Walter expressed genuine interest to take the next steps of growth for his life.  He applied, interviewed and was accepted into the Job and Leadership Training program at Mission St. Louis. Today- Walter is currently attending the JLT program and also working towards his GED.

Success Story // Meet Tiffany

Tiffany

In the Spring of 2017- Tiffany was only two days away from being homeless and losing every physical item that she owned.  She felt completely hopeless and alone.  In addition, the seasonal job she had was also in jeopardy due to no weekly reliable transportation. Tiffany was out of options.  An MSP case manager stepped in- offering resources, encouragement and even correction.  Swiftly, everything began to turn around and Tiffany stepped out and took the steps and initiative to change her life.  She was connected with a temporary living space right near her work so she wouldn’t lose her job.  On Friday July 28th, 2017 Tiffany completed and graduated from Connection to Success’ 3 week intensive Personal and Professional Development course!  During that time frame- she connected with many people, enhanced professional skills and regained hope for her future.  Today- Tiffany is pursuing God’s plan for her life while also seeking a more stable living situation, steady job and gaining a vehicle of her own.

2nd Annual MSP Fun Fest with Dunbar Kids// Event Highlights

Saturday November 21st, 2015 was the 2nd annual MSP Fun Fest with Dunbar Kids and it marked the final event of the year.  It was a very brisk wintry day, so attendance was lower than expected, but everyone who came out had a blast; from the the smallest child to the oldest adult.  Saved, St Lien, and MiNiMe did a fantastic job performing on stage as DJ G kept the music blasting.  Over 25 people showed up to volunteer and gave generously of their effort and time.  Four people gave their life to Christ and several others were able to fill out a Hot Sheet for additional assistance.

Men Standing Positive would like to thank the follow organizations and individuals: Concept Remodels for the advertising sponsorship, the Rock Church in Soulard for the free clothing and Thanksgiving meal, DJ G with New Life Music, Blanks Bounce House, East St. Louis School District 189, Dunbar Elementary School, and Principle Coleman for the facility, gift baskets, and support.  And last but not least, to everyone who came out- participant and volunteer, without everyone working as a team this event would not have been possible.  The Men Standing Positive team can hardly to wait see what next year has in store for Dunbar Elementary and the kids!  Be on the lookout for the highlight video coming soon, and read below for what some had to say about MSP Fun Fest 2015!  Click Here to View the Photos!!

‘Til Next Year…See You on the Streets!

As an educator, I encourage my students to ‘pay it forward’.  They had a chance to see words turn into action.  The Fun Fest was just an inspirational sight to see.  MiNiMe is awesome and I look forward to volunteering next year.

~S. Keeler, PLD Teacher

Fun Fest was awesome!  I think it’s awesome that MSP finds a way to reach the community.  One thing that they always do is feed people.  Even if it’s just a bag of chips.  It’s funny how food brings people together.  Not only that, but the sound is always great.  There just seems to be joy and peace in the atmosphere whenever MSP throws an event.  You can’t say that about every ministry.  I have done events all over the city and I’ve seen a lot of things.  A ministry that is consistent will stand long.  My hat goes off to MSP and what they do for the city.  MSP Fun Fest was nothing different.  It is what is to be expected from MSP!  Any event full of Jesus, full of God, full of joy, full of love, full of peace, and smiles.

~ St. Lien, MSP Fun Fest Artist

This is by far my most favorite event of the school year.  Not only does it allow me the opportunity to fellowship with members of the community, but  MiNiMe is such an inspiration and motivation to the students.  His ability to leave such a profound and long~lasting impression is truly something to be admired.

~C. Coleman, PLD Principal

Matthew 25:34-40 “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

Matthew 25:21 “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’ ”

He can say it better than I.  Great work for His Kingdom.  Glad to be a part.

~G. Collins, The Rock Church in Soulard Volunteer

It was refreshing to see a young artist give back to the community.  Everything was top notch and I can’t wait until next year.

2015 MSP Total Transformation Conference Recap

Saturday August 15th, 2015 Pastor Frank Jackson delivered a powerful and timely message to those who came out to the MSP Total Transformation Conference.  Everyone who was there received something to apply in their daily lives.  Pastor Frank spoke on the renewing of the mind through God’s Word.  Any lasting change in your life has to start on the inside and work its way outside.  Simply adjusting an outward behavior will not permanently fix anything if your beliefs are faulty and not founded on God’s truth.
Earlier that afternoon, several people went out into the neighborhood to let anyone else know about the conference who might have wanted to come.  A whole family showed up with their children and even some friends.  They were able to connect with Pastor Ken at the Rock Church and also filled out MSP Hot Sheets for some additional assistance.  Last but not least, the Rock gave them extra food to take home for the coming week.  The entire MSP team would like to thank all the volunteers who came out and the Rock Church in Soulard for providing the building and dinner; without their help the conference would not have been possible.
Until Next Time… See YOU On The Streets!

Boldness in Love // MSP Outreach Street Report

Saturday August 1st, 2015 the Men Standing Positive team prayed with many on the streets; two accepted Christ, and three filled out MSP Hot Sheets for extra assistance.  It’s not everyday you get a chance to do street ministry with those truly led by the Holy Spirit and bold enough to unashamedly share God’s love.  MSP Ministries has the great privilege of working with dedicated volunteers who even understand how to reach people most everyone would completely disregard.  Many lives have been touched because someone on our outreach team had the courage to speak to them or even simply smile.  Nowadays in our busy society, everyone seems to pay more attention to their phone than the person walking next to them or waiting in line at the store.  Outreach isn’t just across the world in a foreign land; outreach is about reaching those at your job and those in your own neighborhood.  You are surrounded by those people for a reason- you possess the love of God inside you and the ability to share it.  So be bold- let the love that conquered the grave out for the world to see.  It’s what they desperately need, they just don’t realize because they can’t see it.  So show them- be bold.

Until Next Time… See YOU On The Streets!

Sharing Hope // MSP Outreach Street Report

Saturday July 25th, 2015 was a hot afternoon well-spent on the streets of St. Louis. The MSP Outreach team headed to Gravois Road, walking up and down the street stopping at gas stations and store front parking lots. Despite the intense heat, many people were out and about running errands or just trying to stay cool. Everyone we spoke to seemed excited about the upcoming Total Transformation Conference and a few even took extra flyers to pass out to others. Several people wanted prayer for healing; one lady had respiratory issues and one man’s sister dealt with cystic fibrosis. The team stood in agreement that all issues would cease in Jesus’ name. Last but not least, five people were led to Christ and six people filled out an MSP Hot Sheet for additional assistance. The summer heat didn’t stop God from moving in the lives of others as everyone followed His direction and voice.

Until Next Time… See YOU on the Streets!!!

God Knows What You Need// MSP Young Women’s Conference

Saturday June 27th, 2015 marked the 2nd annual MSP Young Women’s Conference at the Rock Church in Soulard.  All participants had a life-changing evening as God’s presence filled the atmosphere.  Despite the late start, host Anna Hetz got the crowd excited before a powerful time of praise and worship led by Shawn and Tanya.  The three speakers, Mike “MiNiMe” Wuebbles, Candice Lauer, and Sheronda Money all shared inspiring messages of truth.  Intermixed between the speakers, Teasha Brown had prepared three praise dances which further emphasized the words that came forth.  During the altar call, several came forward for prayer, receiving deliverance and timely words of encouragement straight from the heart of God.  Last but not least, all attendees received free dinner following the service and the chance to sign up for a variety of assistance programs covering topics like job training, counseling, and much more.  Men Standing Positive would like to extend our deepest thanks to Pastor Ken and his wife Shawn of the Rock Church in Soulard, all volunteers, Crisis Nursery, New Life Evangelistic Center, Connections to Success, and People’s Community Action Center for helping make this night a success.  It would not have happened without their support and dedication.  We look forward to what God has in store for next year.  Check out some testimonies below from those who came to this year’s conference.

Until next time… See YOU on the streets!

“The MSP Women’s Conference was really really good. Sheronda’s words and Teasha’s praise dances spoke directly to my heart. What God showed me that night has started to come to pass and actually manifest. I still fight fear, but I am not angry anymore- it has been gone since that night. I realized I need to go directly to God when issues come up and things go wrong. It was a very powerful conference.”                                                             – Angela

“I enjoyed the MSP Young Women’s Conference at The Rock Church in Soulard very much, and felt that God definitely had something for me through the Praise and Worship Team and the Speakers. The Praise and Worship Team did an excellent job of preparing our hearts for what God had for us to hear through the speakers. Pastor Mike Wuebbles encouraged us to truly listen when we feel God is speaking to us in our life, to consider and “check ourselves”, especially when the Word of God impresses upon our hearts an attitude or behavior that we need to change. Truly renewing our minds as Romans 12:2 tells us with the Word of God enables us to hear God’s voice clearly and shed behaviors and ideas that we may have held since childhood that are not true to God’s Word and who the Bible tells us we are in Christ. Candice Lauer did a wonderful job of encouraging us with scripture and the story of Peter walking on the water with Jesus in Mark 6. Candice challenged us with the idea that Peter walking on the water was in order to show us the power that we have in Christ, and that we should be asking God, “What water can I walk on today for you?” Keeping our eyes on Jesus always! Sheronda Money gave a powerful testimony of God’s redemption and power in her life to forgive and the restoration she has found in Christ. She led in a great time of Holy Spirit filled prayers of confession and healing for many present at the Conference needing redemption and transformation in their lives that only God can bring. I look forward to next year’s MSP Young Women’s Conference and hope that many more will be able to come for this encouraging and challenging time spent in Praise and Worship, and in hearing about the power of God through real-life examples in the lives of women who have discovered the freedom and power of God in their own lives.”                                            -Dulce

“The Women’s Conference was the culmination of one small part of God’s body coming together bringing wellness and wholeness to our city. The speakers presentations were awesome as they shared the word of God and personal experience in their own lives. God’s restorative presence was experienced by all.”                             -Mary
“Had a great time at the meeting and watching the Spirit of God move upon His people! His words and the testimonies of His saints came forth with power. I was truly glad I came and was able to be a part of it. Seeing lives changed through the heart of this ministry is bringing great glory to God in the furtherance of His works of the gospel on the earth! Don’t miss out on what God is doing, and definitely do all you can to pray for and support those at MSP! I was truly touched by it all, and very thankful to hear God’s words come forth in power and minister to us all! Love you all! God bless you all and your precious works for the glory of His name! May we continue to see His salvation and deliverance come forth, in Jesus Christ name!”                                                                                                                                                  -Justice

The Steps that Count

Sunday March 29th, 2015, Pastor Frank Jackson and the congregation of the House of Prayer and Deliverance celebrated their 5 year anniversary.  Family and friends came to show their love and support.  A special service was planned and hostess Sheronda Money kept everything in order as she let God guide her.  Following two words of encouragement from Anna Hetz and Candice Lauer, praise and worship, and children performances, Assistant Pastor Mike “MiNiMe” Wuebbles brought the Word.  He spoke on the importance of stepping out into what God has called you to do, even if it seems impossible.  Not everything in your life is ever going to be “just right” when it comes to going after your purpose.  It’s the daily steps and diligent focus that really counts.  You cannot expect to do the great things if you will not do the small things.  Amidst the laughs, shouts, and complete silences, MiNiMe’s message made everyone stop and think about their purpose in life and why they may have never fully stepped out in faith.  Following God and pursuing your destiny will not always be easy, but it will always be worth it in the end.  To see more photos of the celebration Click Here!

Leadership Starts Off In The Back // #IMPACTEASTSIDE 2015

Sunday March 22, 2015, the Living Word Church in Washington Park, Illinois celebrated its 7 year anniversary.  Pastor Tommy Smith Jr, his wife, family, and congregation had spent the weekend reminiscing on the past years and looking forward to the good things to come.  Sunday afternoon service marked the final celebration to end the extended anniversary weekend.  Guest speaker, Mike ‘MiNiMe’ Wuebbles delivered a powerful and timely message titled, Leadership Starts Off in the Back.  Drawing examples from the story of Joseph, MiNiMe explained that leadership doesn’t happen overnight, it’s a process filled with ups and downs as God prepares you for your destiny. When Joseph first had the dream, he wasn’t anywhere near ready to lead a nation and its people. However, after being in charge of a prison and Potiphar’s house, God developed within him the wisdom and skills necessary to fulfill his calling.  Everyone in the congregation was able to take away a practical piece of insight from the message.  Men Standing Positive looks forward to the continued partnership with the Living Word Church and Pastor Tommy to leave a lasting impact in the Washington Park community.
In addition to ministering from the pulpit, MiNiMe was also able to minister out on the street that afternoon.  Shortly before the service began, one of the congregation members asked MiNiMe to walk across the street to talk to some people sitting out on their driveway.  The two of them crossed the street and began conversing with the group.  Because MiNiMe was all dressed up in a suit for church and even had on a mic, the men were intimidated, annoyed, and tried to start an argument.  They assumed based on his church clothes that MiNiMe had come to argue with and condemn them.  During street ministry it is vital that you relate to people on their level.  The service was about to begin, so MiNiMe quickly stopped the conversation and promised the group he would return after the message.  Immediately following the service, MiNiMe went back across the street. This time, the conversation went an entirely different direction.  Two of the men ended up getting saved, joined the church, and signed up for assistance programs on the MSP Hot Sheet.  Despite the rush and distraction, MiNiMe was able to minister to the group as God moved on their hearts.
