Carry the Cross with MSP: Dare to Take a Stand for Christ!

Saturday June 10th, 2017 marked something special.  Not only was it the first Carry the Cross with MSP of 2017 but a city aldermen saw us from the local Fairgrounds park and came over to join us; walking up and down North Grand.
Local rap artists Reuben Jones, Rob Redeemed and MiNiMe (sound courtesy of DJ G & New Life Music) stopped on street corners to give short performances followed by personal testimonies of what God has done in their own lives.  During one stop, Rob Redeemed shared the story of how God completely healed him of cancer.  A couple nearby heard his testimony and almost immediately gave their lives to Christ.
Lives were affected that day.  Many stopped to stare, a few glared, some took photos and video, while still more were reminded of a faith in which they had lost all hope.  7 MSP Hot Sheets were filled out with those seeking various types of community assistance programs, job training and placement into a church home.

The Day Blue’s Life Changed Forever

Saturday August 8th, 2015 marked the day Blue’s life changed forever.  No matter what you have seen on TV, watched in a movie, or read in the Bible, actually witnessing a man getting set free from demonic possession is powerful experience.  It will challenge any prior judgments and assumptions you may have on how it’s “supposed” or “not supposed” to look.  Saturday afternoon the MSP team and volunteers left the Rock Church in Soulard fully expecting God to direct their steps as they carried the cross down Kingshighway.  Almost immediately, the team walked up to two men- Blue and Tony, who were arguing at the bus stop, right outside the Walgreen’s parking lot.  Blue had been telling Tony about his suicidal thoughts and asked him if he would just shoot him and end all the pain. Right away Pastor Frank and MiNiMe began to speak with Tony as Blue stomped off, upset, mad, and cursing because they were talking about God.  As Tony was receiving prayer, Blue was on the other side stumbling in and out of the street, cursing loudly about God and the group- to the point that it was a major distraction.  After they were done speaking with Tony, MiNiMe was going to go buy him a meal.  As they went to cross the street, Blue stepped right in front of MiNiMe and blocked his path.  Immediately, MiNiMe confronted him about the demons and asked if he wanted to be free of all of it.  Blue hesitated, struggling for a few minutes and then said yes.  As Pastor Frank and MiNiMe laid hands on Blue and commanded the spirits to go, the entire team began to surround them in prayer.  Immediately the spirits began to leave and Blue started to confess aloud that they go away and never return.  MiNiMe then asked Blue if he wanted a personal relationship with Jesus, and he eagerly said yes.  By this time, Blue’s entire countenance and mannerisms had changed.  After accepting Jesus, he had a huge smile on his face, light in his eyes, and kept saying, “I’m free! Yes, I am free!”  As Blue filled out an MSP Hot Sheet, he explained that for years he had been bothered by demons and their voices telling him to end his life.  Anything and everything he had tried to make them go away would never work.  However right after the prayer, Blue said it all left- instantly.  He was so thankful to be free and couldn’t wait to go home and tell everyone about Jesus and this new freedom.  A couple of hours later when the team was on their way back to the church, Blue saw Gary and Pastor Frank in the truck.  They picked him up and then dropped him off where he lived.  MSP will be putting Blue into a church home and getting him some extra assistance.  Blue also gave a short testimony on video that afternoon; be on the lookout for that story soon!! If you are interested in impacting lives and getting involved with Men Standing Positive as a volunteer simply Click Here to fill out the form and someone will contact you soon.

Until Next Time…See YOU on the Streets!

In Loving Memory of Diane Marie Carter

Dee, what a woman!!  Loving, compassionate, kind, patient, caring, and so much more.  Loyal to God, her husband Josh, children, family, friends, her church The Rock in Soulard, and also Men Standing Positive.  Dee left an impact wherever she went and made everyone feel like family.  Her hugs were something special and her smile would brighten your whole day.  Always joyful and laughing, Dee will never be forgotten.  Dee and her husband Josh were faithful MSP volunteers, regularly joining us for street outreach and main events.  If you have ever been fed a meal while working with MSP, it was because of her.  Late Tuesday night August 4th, Dee went home to be with Jesus after battling many long months in the hospital.  She is no longer with us on earth, but forever in our hearts.  We will one day see her soon in heaven.  The entire team at Men Standing Positive extends all our prayers, love, and deepest sympathy to Josh and the entire family.  Diane Marie Carter- Thank you for everything- who you are and all you’ve done.  We will see you again very soon!

Until next time… When we see you on the streets of heaven.
                               Love Always,
Mike “MiNiMe”, Pastor Frank, Anna, Candice, Adrienne, Sheronda, Lisa, Michelle, & Suzette

Changing Lives on the Streets // Carry the Cross with MSP Report

Saturday June 20th, 2015 was the first Carry the Cross with MSP of the summer! The outreach had a positive turnout of volunteers including MiNiMe‘s dad, KG Wilson. He came in town to spend Father’s Day weekend in St. Louis. KG is a prominent activist and community leader in the city of Minneapolis, Minnesota. This was the first time the two of them had ever been on street outreach together. As the MSP team and volunteers walked the Soulard area, two people accepted Christ, three signed up for Hot Sheet assistance, and many others were prayed for and given words of encouragement.

Until next time… See YOU on the Streets!

Carry the Cross with MSP // #Ferguson Street Report

On Saturday afternoon, February 7th, 2015, MSP Ministries and a group of student volunteers from St. Louis Christian College met at the Michael Brown Memorial Site in Ferguson for Carry the Cross with MSP. Everyone split up into groups- some stayed with the cross, and others went door to door, or simply stopped to talk with those out on the sidewalks and streets. At one point- traffic got backed up at a stop sign as several people in cars wanted prayer. One of the volunteers said it best and labeled it as the “drive-thru” prayer line. Once we walked out onto the main road W. Florissant, cars honked and people waved non-stop. After we got back to the vans, MSP was able to pass out food to some people who were in immediate need. In summary, the afternoon was a great success with beautiful weather; 2 people received Jesus and 14 people signed up for Hot Sheet assistance. Of the those who signed up- 2 have already been placed in suitable church homes and programs. MSP Ministries would like to thank all the volunteers who helped make this outreach possible. We look forward to seeing more and more support from the students at St. Louis Christian College. Here’s what Shalisha, one of the students, had to say about her experience at Carry the Cross with MSP–> “Today I was left speechless and in the realization of how important it is to spread God’s love to others. So thankful that I had the opportunity to serve with Men Standing Positive Ministries walking and witnessing on the streets of Ferguson.Looking forward to growing with all of you.”

Carry the Cross with MSP // #Ferguson Street Report

Here we are, a little over 5 months later, all the protester noise, media attention, and political hype has cleared. All that remains of the Michael Brown incident are the memorial site, burned down businesses, and a wounded community. The nation and world may have forgotten, but Ferguson and its people will never forget August 9th, 2014.

On Sat Jan 24th, 2015, MSP Ministries made our first move into the community with a Carry the Cross with MSP. Beginning at Ground Zero (aka. Michael Brown Memorial), a group of over 25 people walked around the neighborhoods and main street of W. Florissant sharing hope and the real love of Jesus.

MSP fully acknowledges that they do not have the answers to all that occurred that day nor do we intend to pick a side on the issue. However, we do plan to stand in the gap with the community and tear down the wall of racial division with the love of Christ. This is not an overnight process or quick fix, and MSP has no intent to leave in a hurry. We will stay until the job is done, media attention or not. People are what matter to God and that’s what matters to MSP.

On Saturday, 6 people gave their lives to Christ and 14 people signed up for Hot Sheet community assistance. Numerous were prayed for- in their cars and on the sidewalks, driveways, and streets. The guys even stopped to help a man rake and clean up brush in his front yard. As the cross was carried down W. Florissant, cars honked and many waved, showing sincere signs of gratitude and appreciation that their community was not being ignored or forgotten.

We challenge you to join us as we make our next move into the Ferguson community. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!! Below are the outreach recap video and some photos!

Come! Take a Stand and Carry the Cross with MSP!

Carry The Cross- Cover

On August 9th, 2014- the entire country and people around the world fixed their eyes on the Midwest- America’s Heartland. The shooting and death of Michael Brown left many hearts filled with hurt, anger, confusion, depression, rage, and uncertainty. Following the incident, the Grand Jury’s decision only succeeded in making the wound worse. It left the city of St. Louis even more divided than before with fear running rampant. From day one, many people contacted MSP wanting to know where we were at, why were we not out on the streets standing for justice and peace, and helping to rebuild the community. Our response is simple- God never gave us clearance to take action during those first tumultuous months except to pray. And pray we did, asking God for direction and guidance on when to make a move, a move at the right place and at the right time. Last month, MSP finally received our answer.

Saturday January 24th, 2015 come join MSP as we take a stand for the community of Ferguson and our entire beloved city, St. Louis. Beginning at Ground Zero, the place where Michael Brown breathed his last, we will be carrying the cross. This day is not a time to take sides on issues, though we do not ignore or lightly dismiss the seriousness of what occurred. Instead, Carry the Cross with MSP represents a time to take a stand, a stand for the only solution that will provide answers and a legitimate healing for all those who were, are, and will be affected in the future. This solution is the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ. Turning to Him is the only way that the Ferguson community, city of St. Louis, and the entire country will ever fully recover to rebuild and prosper in the coming days, weeks, months, and years. It all starts with individual lives hearing about the grace, power, and saving love of Jesus.

So we challenge you- to join us on the 24th– as we go out on the streets of Ferguson. Become a part of sharing the truth of Jesus’s love, praying for those interested, and signing people up who need assistance to change their lives for the better. MSP actively places people in church homes, job training classes, after-school programs, domestic violence shelters, and more! To take a stand with us- RSVP here or click the banner above. We hope to see you there!

Actions Speak Louder Than Words // #IMPACTEASTSIDE Conference Report

MSP Effective Evangelism Conference- Sunday October 26th, 2014

Christians should never be intimidated by evangelism and shy away from sharing their faith. In fact, your daily lifestyle and attitude toward others speaks more of your beliefs than any words you will ever say. At the MSP Effective Evangelism Conference on October 26th, Mike ‘MiNiMe’ Wuebbles delivered a practical message about sharing the Gospel with those around you. Every believer is fully able to tell others about Christ if they would realize it is not about winning a theological argument. The world needs to know how Jesus changed your life and helps you on a daily basis. Christianity is about a personal relationship with God, not a list of religious doctrines. You may be the only example of Jesus someone ever sees in their life. Do not be intimidated to talk about your faith. MiNiMe said it best, “You have what it takes to take over the enemy’s territory; you just have to believe it.”

Directly following the message, Adrienne Ransom struck up a conversation with a lady from the community. The day before she had come home from work, heard the music from DJ G’s jeep and saw the cross coming down her street. Her neighbor was outside and told her about the MSP Effective Evangelism Conference the following day at Harvest Church Illinois. She decided to come out to see what it was all about after one of the MSP team members handed her a flyer with more information. The lady was in awe of the practical message, the free food, and the programs that were available. She felt extremely blessed and decided to make Harvest her church home. Adrienne also signed her up on the hot sheets to receive some assistance with food and clothing. In all, the 2014 MSP Effective Evangelism Conference was a great success. We would especially like to thank the Harvest Church Illinois for hosting this event, and also coming out on the streets with us all month, as we spread the Word around the local area. Last but not least, one family came down to the conference all the way from Hannibal, MO. Watch here to see what it meant to them.

‘Til Next Time… See YOU On The Streets!!!
