Dear Potential Personal Partner,

Throughout this life you will have numerous chances to make a difference in the lives of others: your family, friends, and total strangers. Right now, Men Standing Positive is offering you the opportunity to reach entire low-income communities in a powerful way using our unique system. Founded in Saint Louis, Missouri, our mission is to empower and inspire people by bringing wholeness, change, and a peace of mind through various community outreaches, events, and programs.

Men Standing Positive strategically acts as a third party filter to screen and connect the individual/family to the resources and help they need. We partner with those who provide homeless shelters, drug and alcohol rehabilitation, temporary housing, counseling, job training, utility assistance, domestic violence programs, spiritual development and more. The goal is to successfully unite the individual with the appropriate available resource(s); therefore strengthening and building the community as a whole.
In addition, Men Standing Positive also reaches out and connects with neighborhood churches in the local community before we do our outreach and events. Our policy requires that we cannot connect an individual/family with job training and assistance programs until we first place them in a church home. A dedicated church family is absolutely vital for support, love, and encouragement as the member seeks to follow God, resolve major life issues, and also obtain other necessary help and training. Our unique system works to help people in every area possible: spiritually, emotionally, and physically.

Men Standing Positive believes that impact starts one individual at a time. We want to connect with people, such as yourself, who desire to make a difference in lives across the city. We are currently active in low-income communities throughout North St. Louis City, South St. Louis City, East St. Louis Illinois and Washington Park Illinois reaching men, women, and children of all ages. Men Standing Positive regularly sends updates by way of email, mail, website, blog, and social media so you can see where your money is going. We are a fully certified 501(c)3 organization so any donation amount is fully tax-deductible, appreciated and valuable.

We are currently preparing for 2017; gathering startup funding as we build our staff and prepare for this year’s outreach and events.  If you would like more information please email- partner@menstandingpositive.org or call 314-690-3077.  To make a donation online via PayPal- Click Here. Or write a check out to ‘Men Standing Positive’ and mail to P.O. Box 39459 St. Louis, MO 63139-8459. We cannot make this year happen without our dedicated personal partners like you! Merry Christmas & Happy 2016!!!

merry-christmas-moving-background-red

The closing of one year and the beginning of the next marks a period of significant transition. For Men Standing Positive, 2015 brought about many difficulties, shifts, and also victories. God has a plan and He is always good. This year the team spent their time in Ferguson, South City, Soulard, and in East St. Louis, IL. Over 22 people accepted Christ this year and we were able to place several others in church homes and programs for additional assistance. Below are a few highlights of 2015 we wanted to share with you-

  • In the spring, we created and released our very first video testimonial, called the ‘MSP Transformation Report’. Sean’s life was radically changed over a couple months as he attended Mission St. Louis’ Job and Leadership Training Program; graduating at the top of his class in the fall of 2014. Mission St. Louis is just one of the many programs we partner with to help reach people and transform lives. Be on the lookout next year for the testimony of a woman instantly set-free from depression, self-harm, and a suicide attempt. In a few short minutes, the truth of Jesus changed her life forever. We can’t wait to share her story with you.
  • After many years and piles of paperwork, Men Standing Positive receiving their 501(c)3 certification in July 2015. This will open a variety of opportunities in the near future with corporations, small businesses, and other organizations.
  • Last but not least, MSP gained two new sponsors- Concept Remodels and Saint Louis Christian College. Both have already assisted us in many ways- from monetary contributions for advertising, meeting facilities, event support, and more. For additional information on each please visit the Sponsor page on our website or blog.

We cannot thank our partners, sponsors, and volunteers enough for all they do to help make the mission and vision come to life. Without your support and involvement, none of this would be possible. So thank you! The Men Standing Positive team is extremely thankful, blessed, and eager to see what awaits in 2016. But until then, we hope you have very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year with your families and friends! May God bless you this new year and always.

Love, The MSP Team

2nd Annual MSP Fun Fest with Dunbar Kids// Event Highlights

Saturday November 21st, 2015 was the 2nd annual MSP Fun Fest with Dunbar Kids and it marked the final event of the year.  It was a very brisk wintry day, so attendance was lower than expected, but everyone who came out had a blast; from the the smallest child to the oldest adult.  Saved, St Lien, and MiNiMe did a fantastic job performing on stage as DJ G kept the music blasting.  Over 25 people showed up to volunteer and gave generously of their effort and time.  Four people gave their life to Christ and several others were able to fill out a Hot Sheet for additional assistance.

Men Standing Positive would like to thank the follow organizations and individuals: Concept Remodels for the advertising sponsorship, the Rock Church in Soulard for the free clothing and Thanksgiving meal, DJ G with New Life Music, Blanks Bounce House, East St. Louis School District 189, Dunbar Elementary School, and Principle Coleman for the facility, gift baskets, and support.  And last but not least, to everyone who came out- participant and volunteer, without everyone working as a team this event would not have been possible.  The Men Standing Positive team can hardly to wait see what next year has in store for Dunbar Elementary and the kids!  Be on the lookout for the highlight video coming soon, and read below for what some had to say about MSP Fun Fest 2015!  Click Here to View the Photos!!

‘Til Next Year…See You on the Streets!

As an educator, I encourage my students to ‘pay it forward’.  They had a chance to see words turn into action.  The Fun Fest was just an inspirational sight to see.  MiNiMe is awesome and I look forward to volunteering next year.

~S. Keeler, PLD Teacher

Fun Fest was awesome!  I think it’s awesome that MSP finds a way to reach the community.  One thing that they always do is feed people.  Even if it’s just a bag of chips.  It’s funny how food brings people together.  Not only that, but the sound is always great.  There just seems to be joy and peace in the atmosphere whenever MSP throws an event.  You can’t say that about every ministry.  I have done events all over the city and I’ve seen a lot of things.  A ministry that is consistent will stand long.  My hat goes off to MSP and what they do for the city.  MSP Fun Fest was nothing different.  It is what is to be expected from MSP!  Any event full of Jesus, full of God, full of joy, full of love, full of peace, and smiles.

~ St. Lien, MSP Fun Fest Artist

This is by far my most favorite event of the school year.  Not only does it allow me the opportunity to fellowship with members of the community, but  MiNiMe is such an inspiration and motivation to the students.  His ability to leave such a profound and long~lasting impression is truly something to be admired.

~C. Coleman, PLD Principal

Matthew 25:34-40 “Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’

Matthew 25:21 “His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful slave. You were faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.’ ”

He can say it better than I.  Great work for His Kingdom.  Glad to be a part.

~G. Collins, The Rock Church in Soulard Volunteer

It was refreshing to see a young artist give back to the community.  Everything was top notch and I can’t wait until next year.

Merry Christmas from the MSP Family!

It is the Holidays, uhhh…. Family!

It is the Holidays. The time where everybody goes and meets with family that they have not seen all year. A time for old friends and fun times…The Holidays are supposed to be about honoring the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and celebrating how thankful we are for what we have;maybe even for who we are. However, many of us might also have a lot of problems going on in the family. We may even dread getting together with our families. For some, this is because your mother thinks she knows everything about how your kids should be raised, which irks you. Or it maybe it is because of the brother or uncle that always has to point out how financially secure he is or how his house is bigger and better than yours. Or the family members that always find a way to look down on you. Or the fact that it is a major challenge to keep your cool when certain people walk into the room.

Numerous families all over America are being torn apart. Our nation is riddled with murder, rape, homicide, suicide and drug addictions. Each one of these issues rips thousands of loved ones away from their families on a daily basis. So you would think, when we see each other, there would be lots of love and comfort because we are finally together again, but no. We are all worried about how quick can we get out of there; how soon can we be freed from the burden of this thing we call a family gathering.

There is so much family division going on it is not even funny. Some will try to say the people that cause division are cousin Pookie that gets drunk all the time, smokes his weed, and acts like a fool in front of the whole family. Or Aunt Suzie that knows everything and makes sure everyone else knows how wrong they are; the list goes on and on about who is causing division and keeping the family from coming together. But understand, it is bigger than one person. One of the main jobs of the devil is to cause division. No business can be run by one person’s opinion, nor can any great organization or ministry.

If you go behind the scenes of great businesses and ministries you will find that everybody is not the same. They will all have different opinions on everything. Some may not even agree with a majority of what they do or how it is done. But if you ask everybody what the goal is of the company and what their position is within that company, they will be able to tell you. You can see that they are working consistently to fulfill their position and to reach the goal of the organization.

About eight years ago, I was working for a construction company and out on a job. It was just my boss and I that day, and we were driving through a huge apartment complex that was a whole block long. My boss told me how the tenants of the buildings were all Mexicans. He said that over sixty percent of them had come to America without a green card, and that they moved into these flats, four people to a room. Everybody had their own specific position in reaching a common goal. The goal was to come together, and own the whole entire apartment complex. I asked him if he thought they would ever be able to do it. He told me the whole reason he was telling me the story was because they had already accomplished this goal.

Some of us live 40 to 50 miles away from our family; some even across the country. Yet when we get together once a year, we have a hard time coming into agreement with anything. The devil knows that if we could just focus on what we do agree on, instead of what we disagree on, that we might actually come together and create change. Everyone has their own agendas. Individual families have their own dreams that have nothing to do with the rest of the family. What is your family goal? I bet most of you do not even know, or do you? Its ok, neither do I.This year at my family gathering, I want to try to do something different. Instead of getting mad at my family members for judging me the wrong way, or getting mad at Pookie because he drinks, and then cutting myself off from them. I am going to try to understand why they do what they do. I am going to pray that God will bring us together in a way that we never thought of, and restore all that the enemy has stolen from us.

You might say, “MiNiMe, you have not met my family!”and you think there is no way that can happen in your family. Well, not only do I have an immediate family, but I also have my MSP family. I have been upset, offended, and discouraged by every member of MSP and each of them has been upset, offended, and discouraged by me. Even to the point where each of us just wanted to give up and walk away multiple different times. As the head, I wanted things to go my way so I did what I wanted and it went on this way for a long time. However, the MSP team and I just kept going in circles. One day, we all came together offended, discouraged, and hurt by one another, some even disgusted, but we came together anyways and we prayed. We cried out to God. We said, “God what is Your will, what is Your way for this team?” God said we had to forgive and confess our sins to one another; each individual had to let go of their pride and personal agendas. We had to give into God’s will to follow one goal and one plan.

Shortly after we did what God asked of us, He opened many doors that we did not think would open. We have had all kinds of resources come to us. However, most importantly, we walk in unity with one another. I hate to admit this, but I have a better relationship with my MSP family than I do with my immediate family. But think about this, if God can do it with MSP, He can do it with your family too.

This season I challenge myself and all of you reading this, to not just come together during the Holidays. Instead, make it a priority to come together all year long; find out the goal and plan that God has for you and your family.  Always be mindful “To love one another, forgive one another, put away all bitterness, wrath and evil speaking and be ye kind to one another.” (Ephesians 4:32)

I want to say thank you to my MSP family, I love them with all my heart. I want to say thank you to my immediate family; I love each one of you with all my heart.

Merry Christmas Family! Love you.  –MiNiMe & The MSP Family

What People Are Saying // MSP Fun Fest 2014

MSP Fun Fest was the beginning of something bigger then we can imagine. This is right at the forefront of changing the murder rate or teen pregnancy and the other statistics that haunt us. This is also a way to put God first in our communities again. –Pastor Frank Jackson, MSP Fun Fest Host

IMG_0299 IMG_0302

The feedback I received from the Washington Park/Trinity Outreach Kids was that the MSP Fun Fest gave them the feeling that they were like leaders, and they had the power to make a difference and possibly fix the community. They said they felt like they were doing something important. They also said they wished that the program would have lasted a little longer than it did, so that they could continue to come up with ideas to make the world a better place too. I believe that all of the greater east side metro areas should have much more production models such as the MSP group. Coming through towns spreading love, clothing. – Kevin “KB” Borden, Trinity Outreach Center

I was honored to be involved with MSP’s Fun Fest at Dunbar Elementary. MSP gave me an opportunity to minister to students through music, and it was great seeing how God used us to minister to the students and the parents. Overall, the Fun Fest was a great experience for me, and I’m excited to see how God will use them to take over East St. Louis with the Gospel. – T-Jones

MSP’s Fun Fest @ Dunbar Elementary School was one of the most peaceful and beautiful God glorifying events I have ever attended. Everywhere I looked were smiling faces. God’s presence was everywhere. In the messages brought by the ministers through their music and all the volunteers that worked diligently throughout the event to give the children a safe fun atmosphere to pray, play, dance, eat, and hear about Jesus’s plan for them! There were prizes, clothes, shoes, coats and hope- beautiful hope! … the Holy Spirit permeated the air as everyone worked in harmony to bring honor and glory to our majestic and all mighty God. So many servants and prayer warriors from all around the world, all with one mind and heart came together to share of their gifts and talents to increase the Kingdom and sow seeds that will carry on for eternity! I am so blessed to have been just a teeny-tiny part of the body assembled that beautiful Saturday afternoon! Thank you MSP for your faithfulness and service! -Love, D, The Rock Church Soulard

As I was setting up my DJ equipment for the MSP Fun Fest, I didn’t know what to expect. Would the kids come to the school on a Saturday, especially with it being rainy? They came and they had a great time! I believe the impact helped build a closer relationship with Jesus. The kids rejoiced and had fun in the Lord. And I’m glad to have been a part of it, along with the entire MSP Ministry. –DJ G, New Life Music
