On average, there are 123 suicides per day in America.
You may not be able to do everything but you can do something. Share Michelle’s video with others. It could save someones life. Planning to kill herself at the age of 25, Michelle had tried everything to stop the pain: counseling, prescription medication, alcohol, self-harm, sex and drugs- nothing worked. Her childhood cut short; all innocence stolen. Michelle’s life was an endless nightmare; a living hell of brokenness, pain and self-hate. Until one day- everything changed. This is her story; Michelle’s journey of addiction to freedom and suicide to hope.

Back in the Summer of 2015 during an MSP Street Outreach in South City, Walter accepted Christ and was invited to an upcoming MSP conference. Later that month he came to the conference, one of the speakers prayed over and prophesied to him that his home church was where he was standing and his pastor was at the back of the room. Ever since that time, Walter has faithfully attended and grown in his relationship with God. At the end of 2017, an MSP case manager began to counsel and assist him with resources as Walter expressed genuine interest to take the next steps of growth for his life. He applied, interviewed and was accepted into the Job and Leadership Training program at Mission St. Louis. Today- Walter is currently attending the JLT program and also working towards his GED.
In the Spring of 2017- Tiffany was only two days away from being homeless and losing every physical item that she owned. She felt completely hopeless and alone. In addition, the seasonal job she had was also in jeopardy due to no weekly reliable transportation. Tiffany was out of options. An MSP case manager stepped in- offering resources, encouragement and even correction. Swiftly, everything began to turn around and Tiffany stepped out and took the steps and initiative to change her life. She was connected with a temporary living space right near her work so she wouldn’t lose her job. On Friday July 28th, 2017 Tiffany completed and graduated from Connection to Success’ 3 week intensive Personal and Professional Development course! During that time frame- she connected with many people, enhanced professional skills and regained hope for her future. Today- Tiffany is pursuing God’s plan for her life while also seeking a more stable living situation, steady job and gaining a vehicle of her own.
On Saturday June 7th 2017, MSP staff and volunteers gathered inside Jubilee Community Church to pray and prepare for afternoon street outreach in North City. A young man named Terrance had just moved back to St. Louis and was walking down the street stopping at local businesses to see who was hiring. Something told him to come inside the church as he was walking by. When he came in, everyone thought he was simply showing up to volunteer. Terrance came directly down the aisle up to the front and re-dedicated his life to God. He then spent the afternoon on street outreach with Men Standing Positive. Terrance was immediately connected with an MSP case manager who directed him to Jubilee Church so he could start being discipled and receive any needed food, clothing and hygiene items. Shortly after that Saturday, he was placed in a job working for Jubilee Services; a professional service company offering lawn care, landscaping and construction for both residential and commercial property across the St. Louis region. After approximately 5 months, he transitioned to another landscaping company after receiving the necessary the training.

Starting in 2014- Men Standing Positive began working alongside Principal Coleman and the students at Dunbar Elementary. MSP Fun Fest is not just your average free event with live music, food and a bounce house. It’s an event designed to reach the students with a positive message through music. So not only do they have a great time but they leave having learned why they need to remain in school, why they need to respect authority and so much more. The students also hear that they are the agents of change to reach their local community and it all starts now- even while they are in elementary school.
